Diplomatic Gas Forum at DNV GL Høvik 5 December 2017

Energy to transform?

The role of natural gas

Diplomatic Gas Forum at DNV GL, Høvik, on 5th of December 2017, 09.00 – 13.30 hrs

The Norwegian Oil and Gas Association, the International Gas Union (IGU) and DNV GL, are pleased to invite you to this year’s Diplomatic Gas Forum, to be held in DNV GL’s offices at Høvik on the 5th of December 2017, 09.00-13.30 hrs.

We are inviting high-level representatives from the diplomatic missions in Norway to the event, which aims at discussing the trends and perspectives of the gas industry: What is the role of natural gas in long term sustainable energy solution?

Oil and gas will be crucial components of the world’s energy future. While renewable energy will grow its share of the energy mix, estimates indicate that oil and gas will account for over 40% of energy use in 2050 and gas will become the largest single source of energy.

Our forum aims at discussing in which ways gas is contributing and may contribute to the energy future, why we should continue to invest in gas, and how to take fully advantage of gas’ potential.

The program will consist of presentations by high-level representatives from the gas industry. The trends and perspectives of the gas industry will be highlighted from different angles, perspectives and geographical levels, before we sum it all up in a panel debate.

We invite you to save the date and hope that you can join us. A full invitation with a detailed program will be issued shortly. If you find this interesting, please do not hesitate to register. If you have any questions about this forum at this stage, please get in touch with Mr. Erling Kvadsheim, Director, international affairs at the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association on ek@norog.no or by phone: +47 900 76 413.
